Joseph Nakouzi is a Montréal-based producer and DJ working in minimal, melodic progressive techno. His releases have topped Beatport's Progressive House chart and landed on Click Records, Asymmetric/Dip, LIKE THAT UNDERGROUND and Trippy Code.
Born of Lebanese and Ukrainian heritage and based in Montréal, Joseph Nakouzi builds tracks around driving, hypnotic rhythms woven with rich instrumental and vocal textures. His sound sits between melody and machine, equally at home in a minimal techno set or a rave-ready progressive room, and he shapes it to the setting rather than forcing a single formula on every floor.
He is known for extended sets, taking a crowd on a journey over hours rather than minutes. His Just a Dream EP on Click Records reached No. 1 on Beatport's Progressive House releases chart, and his music has appeared on Asymmetric Recordings/Dip, LIKE THAT UNDERGROUND, Trippy Code, Elixir Recordings and Uxoa Dutxa Elite. His track “Solace” was written for Nights of Solace and appears on the label's debut compilation, Tides Vol. 1.
He has played Salon Daomé, Le Skills Afterhours, NoiseFloor, Exotek Nights and Red Room in Montréal, alongside Orphan Burn in Toronto, and has featured on OHRSPIEL's iM Takt podcast in Germany.
